Causes of Abdominoplasty

The abdominal aesthetics is performed for many reasons;
• First of all, women's problem of weight gain and loss,
• Because of the deformation in the abdomen when they get older and after pregnancy, there is an interest in the abdominal aesthetics.

After pregnancy, a redundancy occurs in the abdomen of each women and these redundancies are located in the belly region. In order to solve this problem, abdominal aesthetic treatment method is widely used. Abdominal aesthetics (Abdominoplasty) is also known as "tummy tuck". The purpose of the surgery is to have a tight appearance of your abdomen.

What are the Risks of Abdominal Aesthetics?

causes-of-abdominoplastyThere are risks also in this surgery. However, these risks occur in very rare situations. In general, infections that are seen after surgery, may be prevented by appropriate antibiotics. Aside from this, the problem is solved with the intervention of drains against the accumulation of blood and contaminated liquids in the abdomen. Risk is quite low. In these cases, these problems can be prevented by short-term controls.

To Whom the Abdominal Aesthetics Can Be Applied?

It is an operation that can be performed mostly for an adult person. It is not a treatment method that can be used for individuals with weight problems at early ages. One of the most important element is that the person who will be operated should be at the appropriate weight. If not, he/she is expected to lose weight. The importance of weight lossis to achieve the desired level of stretching by reducing abdominal tension.

If the person has a prior aesthetic surgery, he / she should inform the surgeon about the operation. The patient is asked to quit smoking at least 1 month before the operation if he/she smokes and then he/she is asked not to smoke for at least 2 weeks. This is because smoking prevents the healing of the wound.

Abdominoplasty Types

Abdominoplasty is performed in two ways. Depending on where and at what size the abdominoplasty is to be performed, mini and complete stretching is performed.

Mini Abdominoplasty

If the abdomen with deformation is located at the bottom of the umbilicus, if slight fat deposition and sags in the lower part of the umbilicus are seen, if the separation and loosening in the abdominal muscles are not visible, if there is no sagging or fat deposition over the umbilicus, and there are partial cracks at the bottom of the umbilicus mini abdominoplasty surgery may be appropriate.

Mini abdominoplastyis an operation which is not suitable for loose skins that are not suitable for abdominoplasty and may be preferred by those who do not have excess weight in the abdomen. It is especially applied to people who have given birth, and whose excess fat or subcutaneous tissue collected under the belly.

In the mini abdominoplasty, excess fat in the abdomen and waist area are removed, the excess tissue at the bottom of the belly is removed, stretching is applied. Certainly, a process is not applied to the region above the belly. The most suitable candidates for the mini abdominoplasty are those with the umbilicus above, since a procedure is not performed over the belly.

Complete Abdominoplasty

This method is preferred in cases where the problems seen in mini abdominoplasty are seen in the upper part of the belly. Complete causes-of-abdominoplastyabdominoplasty is performed on the upper part of umbilicus and on between the groin and abdomen. Sagging, cracks, excess fat tissue seen in this area are removed. Loose abdominal muscles are tightened and the skin strained. During surgery, the surgical wound is planned to be inside the underwear.

After Abdominoplasty

After abdominoplasty the patient is woke up after 1 or 2 hours. The patient, who is hospitalized on the same day, is discharged the next day by removing the drains.
The patient is warned after the surgery that the movements that will force his belly and heavy objects should not be lifted. Surgical wounds are covered with bandages and the abdomen corset should be worn for 6 weeks after removal of the bandages.

While the patient is told to use antibiotics against the infection, they are asked not to lie in the upright position for a week. The patient can take bath after four days, while the surgeon takes the sutures 10 days later. People who have surgery can return to work after two weeks. The abdomen takes the last shape 6 months after surgery and the swelling is lost.

Abdominal Muscle Aesthetics

Aesthetics-based surgical interventions also occur over the abdominal muscles, the studies which are based on revealing the muscle parts called six packin a short period of time also show themselves. Both at this stage and at the operation of the  abdominal muscle stage, which will be seen as a process based on the further showing up of a certain muscle mass, the situation that the people will not be faced with an intense sport and diet program will come to the fore. Such programs, which are found to be compelling, will take enough time of people and after a serious effort, the elimination of the fat layer in the abdomen will occur.

How is Abdominal Muscle Surgery Performed?

causes-of-abdominoplastyThis surgery, which will be performed to people who does not reach the ideal abdominal muscle in spite of the exercises, who wants a more sporty body and who wants to reach the abdominal muscles in a shorter time, is performed very easily. This operation, which will provide the ability to give shape to fat and convert the fat into emulsion, is also called painless liposuction ; it also shows itself in a way that does not cause any damage to nerves or fats.

• The first step in this kind of aesthetic operations, which will be applied to people under general or local anesthesia, will be to determine the locations of the muscles and move accordingly.
• To the regions where fat deposition present and where the muscles do not appear in a specific position are given vibrations by means of micro entries, the fat layer is removed and the muscles become visible.
